Gibson Super Truck Exhaust
(Installation 1)
Written by Steve Eppinger

1. Soon to be removed, here is the restrictive factory exhaust system

2. According to Shane, the biggest problem with the install lies in the factory rubber bushings. Many people break them off when removing the factory exhaust system. The Gibson system includes welded on "hangers" that fit the stock bushings perfectly.

3. As noted above, Shane is very careful to rock the factory exhaust back and forth to gently remove it from the bushings. He also uses a wrench to carefully pry the brackets out.

4. Once removed from the bushings, he applies heat to the factory joint where the stock exhaust meets the catalytic converter. Though the installation instructions says to cut at this joint, Shane prefers not to cut. This will make for a cleaner, tighter fit for the Gibson.
